FileBrowserGO: File Manager App Reviews

Useless trial

Basically does nothing

Latest version is crapware

Just updated and wish that I hadnt. It now comes with an fn popup that wants you to upgrade and wont let you do anything for 5 to 10 seconds. The lite version used to do all that I needed. As soon as I find an alternative this will go in the trash where it belongs.

App is not stabile!

It stops playing so often that is unusable! I am using alac files on my server and when I start player it stops. Sometimes it plays, more often stops. Very bad!

Did Exactly What I Needed It To Do

Allowed me to browse files on my time capsule and save them in Dropbox.

All I see on my iPad is photos

I dont see any music, docs, etc, just photos. I was able to access my WHS server files.

Garbage app that does not work

Dont waste your time on this app. Buggy and doesnt work.

Major drawbacks

This is a very nice and very full featured file manager, yet with all the features it has, it has a couple major drawbacks/problems. The main one is that the view/sort settings (i.e. list or grid, and sort/display order) apply to all folders and devices. In other words, if you want to view your photos as a grid (screen full of thumbnails) sorted by most recently taken, yet you want to view your files on dropbox or anywhere as a list of files sorted by name, you can’t, you can only have one setting that applies to everything. Unbelievable and extremely inconvenient having to constantly change these settings, even though they put a button for it in the menu bar on each screen. They also talk about photos having no need to take up space on your phone/ipad, yet unlike every single other similar app I’ve looked at, even including apps like DropBox, this app has no facility to automatically upload new photos to another location, you have to remember which you have transferred and then manually select and transfer them. Again a serious lacking feature. Other than that, the interface needs a bit of work, with things like most screens having a down arrow in upper left corner as well as a home button in lower right, which both do exactly the same thing, and some screen having a big close button instead of a down arrow, not a very consistent interface. The app does have a great many features that other apps do not, but for me, the most important aspect must be a good quality file manager/browser, and the inability to set the view/sort for different devices (let alone different folders on a device) makes it just too awkward and unpleasant to use. Add to that no auto photo/vid upload (like all other apps have), and this app get dropped from my list of suitable basic file managers/browsers.

waste time

Its demo one, not free version, dont waste time

Update

i have a pro version. after update, dont have anymore photo albums or roots... this update is not good. We want to see pics in folders - by name, date etc.

dont install it!

after installation, no icon, no possibility to open it , even from within Appstore with Open button.

Not sure. Not stable.

Crashing on ios data protection enabling. No feedback/support button.

Problems with localization

I cant consider this application properly. I have downloaded version with hieroglyphs in the russian appstore , Is same problem in the full version?

Ad push galore

Pushes ad to purchase full version literally every time you touch the screen. Almost no functionality in this lite version.

Might be a great app, but Browser is a bit misleading.

It may be a great app, but what you CANT do is BROWSE your local files unless its put there by FileBrowser, is part of you iTunes sync, or is in your photos.

More demo than lite

This isnt so much a lite version of FileBrowser as a demo version. As others have noted, theres an upgrade ad after almost every action, and some actions have countdown timers to deliberately slow things down. Vidoes arent played in full--theyre just sampled. And some functionality (e.g., showing files in iCloud) are disabled. Using the app on a day to day basis would be very frustrating, but for purposes of seeing what kinds of things FileBrowser can do and what it would be like to use it, its acceptable. Im giving the app three stars, because it let me do what I wanted to do: see what it would be like to use FileBrowser. As a standalone app, however, its really more like one star.

Not Good

It is useless, I suggest to purchase the paid one. This is not a real LITE version but a demo of the paid app.

Nothing

I got this app hoping to access our network drive. I might buy the payed version if this would let me know it would work. All this is is a shell that leads you to adds and didnt give me a clue if the paid version would work or not!?

Glorified Commercial

The lite version of filebrowser is basically a commercial for the paid version. There is no significant functionality to be had - at least not for me.

Does exactly what I needed it for

Got me in to my network so I could monitor my files.

Awesome and easy

I never write reviews but this is worth it. Fabulous, easy to set up, simple and clear to use. A no-brainer.
